Smartphone Sensor

How many sensors are using in smartphone and its uses.....

Today's life everyone is using a smartphone and we should know how the sensors are working....

Sensor Devices

1. Proximity Sensor:

A proximity sensor is a sensor able to detect the presence of nearby objects without any physical contact.

A proximity sensor often emits an electromagnetic field(infrared)

This sensor is used in top of your phone.

This sensor is included in an infrared LED and IR light detector.

2. Gyroscope Sensors :

Gyroscope sensors, also known as gyro sensors measures angular or rotational movement.

When you tilt or rotate your phone while playing videos or games, the gyro sensor adjusts the phone orientation accurately according to the phone movement.

3. Accelerometer Sensor :

An accelerometer detects acceleration, vibration, and tilt to determine movement and exact orientation along the three axes.

Apps use this smartphone sensor to determine whether your phone is in portrait or landscape orientation.

It can also tell if your phone screen is facing upward or downward.

4. Barometric pressure sensors  :

Barometric pressure sensors are contributing to the field of weather forecasting

In fact, you can even forecast the weather with the help of tiny sensors in your mobile phone or tablet.

Barometric pressure sensors instead measure absolute air pressure.

5. Ambient Light Sensor :

An ambient light sensor is one kind of component which is utilized in mobile devices, smartphones, notebooks, LCD TVs, and automotive displays.

So this avoids the screen brightness whenever the users are modified for vision within a dark room otherwise less brightness as the mobile is utilized outdoors during the daytime.

By dimming the mobile screen one can prolong the lifetime of the battery.

6. Microphone Sensor :

The microphone changes the sound waves from your voice into electrical signals that are sent to the audio amplifier of the radio components.

7. Global Positioning System :

Normally everyone knows about GPS

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a navigation system using satellites,

8. Camera Sensor :

A smartphone camera image sensor is a device that takes the light that enters the camera through the lens and produces a digital image from it.

The surface of a sensor contains millions of photosites also known as pixels which are responsible for capturing the light.

9. Touch screen Sensors :

Touch screen technologies used in mobile phones include resistive, capacitive and surface-wave based systems. ...

In the capacitive system, a layer of an electroconductive material (most often indium tin-oxide) that stores an electrical charge is placed on the glass panel of the monitor.

10. Finger Print Sensor :

Mounted under the display of the smartphone, in-display fingerprint sensors allow users to unlock the phone

Check it : Using finger print lock or unlock your smartphone

11. Bluetooth Sensor :

The cell phone and transmits the data it gathers using Bluetooth wireless technology.

Bluetooth is to connect your smartphone to wireless speakers or headphones. ...

Making use of hands-free headsets is another popular use for Bluetooth. ...

For file transfer.

For hands-free in cars.

12. Near Field Communication Sensor :

NFC stands for Near Field Communication and lets you quickly share various files with other mobile devices, make payments via services like Google Pay, and more.

Near-field communication is a set of communication protocols for communication between two electronic devices over a distance of 4 cm or less.
